The longest in Ukraine (250 km), one of the longest in Europe
Dniester canyon extends from the mouth of Zolota Lypa river to the mouth of Zbruch river.
Here, the Dniester river flows along the canyon-shaped valley with depth up to 150 m, creating lots of fantastic meanders. The canyon is a unique geological museum, where there are preserved geological, hydrological, botanical nature monuments, which form unique landscapes.
The steep rocky shores with the unique grottoes and waterfalls are especially impressive. The wooded and grassy slopes are home for hundreds of types of animals and birds.
Here, in the Dniester canyon, there are the known in the world outcrops, which contains ancient remains of flora and fauna of that period of the Earth formation which you can touch by yourself.
A warm climate in the canyon distinguishes this area among the other territories of the Western Ukraine. The canyon walls detain a sun heat, due to which in spring greenery blossoms 2-3 weeks quicker than usually. An alloy along Dniester lasting from 2 to 7 days is one of the most interesting journeys in Ukraine.
