Unique monument to iron production in Ukraine of the beginning of the XIX century
It was built in 1810 with assistance of Greco-Catholic metropolitan A. Anhelovich, who gave the name to the settlement Anheliv here. The settling of the area, building of the domain (high) furnace and other industrial facilities continued till 1812.
In 1814 the company was in order. Within the enterprise there were 12 mines, one high furnace, two hamarnies (factories for iron processing, clearing by fire and hammer), smithy for the nails production, other technical buildings and houses. There were 81 employees and 82 guards. The Anhelivska Huta operated only till 1818 and was closed because of bad quality of ore and litigation between Metropolitan Anhelovich and managing director Geker.
During the First World War the Russian Army of the general Brusylov ruined the complex and only a blast furnace remained, which was included into the state list of the architectural monuments of national value in 1979.
