Easter eggs painting
Mrs. Ruslana has combined professional activity with the creative one. She works at the Museum of Easter Eggs Painting and makes Pokutski pysanky using such four techniques: etching, drapanka, decoration with beads, wax painting. The art of the decorated eggs dates back to pre-Christian times and originated in pagan times. According to beliefs, egg is the source of life, the beginning of the universe. In the Christian sense, it became a symbol of Christ's Resurrection. He conquered death and gave mankind eternal life. Therefore pysanky were traditionally made before Easter.
The mistress paints the symbol of the cross on the so-called ‘cruciform’ Easter eggs and the flower symbolizes the sun. The craftswoman’s collection houses Easter eggs with the pattern "forty wedges." These pysanky are made on the Feast of the Forty Saints during the Great Lent, 40 wishes making during the process.
Master class can be held at customer’s site for a group of 5-10 persons.
